Having a private guide for the duration of a safari in Botswana, and possibly beyond, adds a higher level of experience for our guests on safari. Guides weave together their intimate knowledge of all of the environments found here with their enthusiastic personality and focus on safety, into a memorable and life-changing experience. We are very particular about only using the best guides in the industry. All of our guides are wildlife experts and naturalists with at least 15 years of guiding experience throughout Botswana, and in most cases throughout Southern and Eastern Africa. Our guides’ deep and intuitive knowledge of Botswana’s bountiful wildlife, landscape and culture makes all safaris come alive. Each guide is a fully qualified walking guide, has first-aid training, and all of the necessary licenses as required by law in Botswana to lead and guide safaris. All of our guides have also at some point themselves trained up and coming guides of the future.
Given the remote nature of most of the areas in which we operate, fixed-wing transfers are usually required to travel between international airports and local bush airstrips. We partner with Botswana’s most established and reputable company Mack Air, to provide an efficient, professional and hassle-free service to move our guests around Botswana.
For a more adventurous and intimate view of Botswana by air, why not book a Helicopter Horizons scenic flight through us, and experience the thrill of seeing the abundant wildlife and incredible scenery on offer. A helicopter flight is the perfect complement to any itinerary and gives a different perspective on the world in which we operate. An opportunity not to be missed!
We offer our guests the option of extending their stay in our tented camp with additional nights in a permanent lodge in another location. As we are based in Botswana, we know all available properties intimately and are able to advise the most appropriate lodge based on your interests, the time of year, the experiences and best game viewing activities. Staying in a permanent lodge or tented camp in one of Botswana’s private concessions, community areas, national parks or game reserves, truly complements the rest of the itinerary of a tented safari with us.
As the world’s largest protected inland delta, the Okavango by water is an experience not to be missed. Whether doing a half- or full-day excursion on the water with a packed lunch, or spending several days exploring the vast open waterways, seeing the abundant aqua-flora and -fauna to be found here is a wonderful experience, and one which helps to shape one’s understanding of the entire ecosystem.
As many of our guests travel around the Chobe and Zambezi at the beginning or end of their safari in Botswana, we use only the very best company with the most up to date fleet of vehicles, professional, timely and efficient service. Wild Horizons operates all of our transfers between Kasane in Botswana, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Livingstone in Zambia. Wild Horizons will always meet and greet all of our guests and ensure they are moved on time, every time, to connect to and from international, regional or domestic flights, as well as between lodges and hotels.
