A life-changing experience

A Typical Day on Safari

We will wake you gently around an hour before sunrise and serve a light continental breakfast around the fire to prepare you for your morning game drive. You will watch the brilliant African sunrise and observe the waking wildlife from spacious open-sided safari vehicles. About half-way through our 4-to 5-hour drive, tracking animals and learning about their habits, we will stop at a scenic spot for tea and coffee, then return to camp for lunch around 11 am, depending on the sightings we come across.

After lunch you will have 2 – 3 hours of personal downtime to spend how you wish – relaxing in our inviting “chill tent,” reading, having a siesta or showering before our tasty High Tea at around 4 pm. Ready for more exciting sightings, we will set off on our afternoon game drive, culminating in a famous sundowner – often in the company of a variety of wildlife – before returning to camp for a delicious three-course dinner, prepared and served by our staff, served under the stars at around 8 pm.

After a time of greatly exaggerated storytelling around the campfire, you will be more than ready to return to your cozy and comfortable private tent to have a deep sleep, ready for the next day’s adventure!

When on safari with us in Botswana, guests can experience a range of different habitats, as well as many different ways to explore these areas.

From game drives and night drives, to walking safaris and mokoros (dugout canoes), at Golden Africa, we give our guests the best opportunity to be exposed to the full range.

"Thank you for the most amazing safari. We loved all of it, you are a fabulous guide and made it come alive with your boundless enthusiasm as well as your knowledge. There was nothing we could ask that you didn’t know!"
