Rob and I are excited to announce the launch of our sister company, Okavango Weddings, offering the opportunity for couples to say “I do” in one of the best and most magical wedding destinations on offer.
Organising weddings has been a passion of both of ours since we had our own bush wedding in 2016. After the success of organising a Khwai bush wedding for guests in 2019, and starting to plan further weddings for couples in 2020, which had been postponed due to COVID-19, we knew that we wanted to set up a company dedicated purely to making couple’s dreams come true on their special day.
With millions of acres of protected and pristine wilderness, there are many options for camps and lodges to host your ceremony. Botswana is a gem of a place which has just started to be recognised on the map as a wedding destination. Okavango Weddings will work with couples to plan and organise every detail of their special day, as well as design a complete safari itinerary to ensure that the bride and groom and their special guests will have the trip of a lifetime.
Every wedding is tailor-made to the specifications of each couple to ensure that you have the perfect day. A wedding ceremony in the Botswana bush is a truly memorable and unforgettable way to celebrate your union and will give you memories which will last a lifetime; it certainly did for us!
Although we could not deliver any weddings in 2020, we have made maximum use of our time to seek the best locations, resources and local suppliers to deliver an experience that is infused with the magic and artistry of the local culture. Watch this space for the Okavango Weddings website, which will be live soon. For now, you can read more about weddings in Botswana here.
I can speak from experience – there is no place on earth to begin a new life together better than in the wilderness and beauty of Botswana.

Golden Africa safaris will look a little different in 2021 because of COVID-19, but nothing can detract from the beauty, excitement, and healing power of being in the sheer majesty of beautiful Botswana for a tailor-made safari.
